We had our show "Trace" at Sea and Space last weekend. Some lovely surprises happened when things came together in the space!
We had already planned Cynthia's poem to go with Anjali's projection in ]wrist[. I must say it came out gorgeous! Cynthia cut out a stencil of the words and used graphite for some and spray paint for some to make the different shades on the wall.

We then discovered an interesting relationship could be developed with my solo "When We're Alone" and the ]wrist[ installation. Here's a tiny excerpt:

"Trace" was such a unique experience. Everybody had a great time, especially because we had a chance to contribute to the piece:)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Shyamala and Cynthia's roles in the live performance. There is just the right balance between language and dance, between dancers themselves and the characters. some how I was really drawn to the character of Cuban grandfather:)
You ladies are super talented. Thanks for blending all art forms together so smoothly. Including other performers brings in a lot of varieties, that helps maintain audience's attention high throughout the show. I enjoyed that aspect of the collaborative performance, too.
Your collective is a gem. Keep up all the wonderful works! and thanks again for a lovely show.
