Nightmare -- queering abhinaya assignment 2.3

This is a mock-up of a scene from Super Ruwaxi: Origins where Ruwaxi's parents have a nightmare about Ruwaxi after seeing a "Most Wanted" TV alert about Super Ruwaxi.  In my head, this video would be playing while Ruwaxi would watch from the side, dimly lit as if in their bedroom doorway, seeing her sleeping parents have a bad dream about her.

This video is a mock-up, and I ideally would re-record the voices so that one (the father) is a male voice.  I also would have to find images that are in the public domain or that I otherwise have rights too.

FEEDBACK QUESTIONS
1. How does the video make you feel?
2. How is the music working for you?  Any particular feedback that I should give my composer?  Here is a link to the music without the voices: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qhibcyxqksvjbl4/The%20Nightmare%20v1-2%20%28Jagged%20Pulse%29.mp3
3. What parts of the visuals are working and not working for you?  Are the still images effective or would you rather they be video?
4. Is this worth pursuing further or should I trash the idea?
5. Other thoughts?

I feel privy to the parent's inner world. The sound gives me a slightly disturbed feeling.

I think it's dark, kind of distorted feeling, and I like the cacophony, though the final sound seems a bit over dramatic too me. It feels like the voices could get integrated into the sound score instead of just floating above it. Right now in order to hear the voices, I listen less to the sounds. Perhaps the myriad of sounds pull back a little more to give room for the voices? Or alternatively, there could be just a few introductory voices to let us know the context and then the rest is the flash of images and sound?

    3. What parts of the visuals are working and not working for you? Are the still images effective or would you rather they be video?

The intertwined hands are great (though perhaps there's a bit more abstract way to show Ma talking), and I found Super Ruwaxi's image coming up particularly powerful (perhaps because it's video, but mostly because I recognize her club persona) ... the arm pit hair is interesting too! I am wondering instead of Ruwaxi coming up first, perhaps it could be a series of images (like the armpit hair, or different fragmented images of body) that lead to the final image of Ruwaxi appearing at the peak of their nightmare? The other stock images were least interesting to me. I do think video (doesn't have to move a lot, like Ruwaxi's image) would be better than still photos.

    4. Is this worth pursuing further or should I trash the idea?

    Absolutely!

    5. Other thoughts?

Would you be open to shortening it to around 1 min or j1 min 15 sec? I personally I got the point around 1 min and that even though music escalated after that, I wonder if the escalation could have been moved earlier.
