This is the latest re-making of "10 Little..." draft. I was trying to put the resilience piece in, but also wanted to reflect the current and urgent situation in Standing Rock. I feel moved to post this tomorrow and suggest donating to Standing Rock as an alternative or addition to folks' celebrating Thanksgiving.

Questions: answer any that you are moved to, I know time is short!
1. Does it need any written context for folk other than where they can donate?
2. Are there any red flags?
3. What is your experience when watching it (what are you thinking/feeling)?
4. Is the use of the song effective in making folk think about the violence inherent in the song, or does it just seem like playing on nostalgia?
5. Are there any refinements I might be able to make before I post tomorrow?
6. Are there any refinements/changes you suggest for future versions?
7. Any other thoughts?

Quick thoughts, since you want to post this tomorrow. I'll try to add more later.
ReplyDeleteI think this version is great -- much more emotionally nuanced than before, and I love the parts about Standing Rock that you have added. I don't see any red flags. My main feedback is technical -- you're backlit and so the picture is not as clear as before. I enjoyed how in earlier versions you were outside (it would be amazing if you were near a body of water, though I know that would make sound more difficult), and am wondering about the possibility of having a #noDAPL T-shirt that was broached at one point. It might be nice to have some kind of background ambient/musical sound as well to fill out the silences -- or it could be the sound of water? -- as well.
