Shyamala's response to August Assignment

For this poem, I thought I'd try not to start at a point of meaning (which would be my normal habit) and instead I used a technique I learned in a workshop with Janis Brenner: I sounded out each word, stretching it and breaking it apart. Then I made movements to each word or syllable, or sound.

Cynthia and I thought the resulting character seemed "desperate," but Anj thought she was more sensual/passionate!
