I started a new collaboration with an old friend Sita Frederick. Sita has been working on a performance work "Otro Lado" dealing with issues of borders, statelessness, migrant bodies, cages, etc. for the last few years. I'm designing media projections for her show in January 2017. She sent me this photo essay as part of getting the ball rolling in our creative collaboration:

Also, I was in Hollywood this past weekend for a youth film festival and there was a musical and social justice pop-up happening on the street. Aztlan Underground, a musical group with indigenous roots in the Americas, was playing. Powerful. One song that stood out to me was a call and response with the refrain "we didn't cross the border, the border crossed us."
